[ PSP X7 tutorial - written by @nn TDstudio - 2015 ]

This tutorial is written by Ann January, 2015 with a Dutch version of PSP X7

     **  Import into Filters Unlimited

 

Preparations:

  • Copy the Picture Tube to the Picture Tubes folder of PSP
  • Copy the Brushes to the Brushes folder of PSP )or open in PSP and Export as Custom Brushes)
  • Copy the Selections to the Selections folder of PSP
  • Copy the Picture Frame to the Picture Frames folder of PSP
  • Copy the Gradient to the Gradients folder of PSP
  • Copy the Raster Deform Tool Preset to the Presets folder of PSP
  • Double click on the Alien Skin Preset it will install automatically
  • Install the Font to the Font folder of Windows (Remember to uninstall after use)
  • Open all files in PSP, duplicate and minimize to tray.Close the originals. NOTE: If you are using different colors you might need to colorize some of the files.

From PSP 14, 15 AND 16 there is no option for Image - Mirror & Image -  Flip There is a new option but this does not give the same result except when the tube/image covers the whole image from side to side There is an easy way to add the old Mirror and Flip options to the Image Menu I have written a tutorial you can find it HERE. From PSP 17 the option is back

NOTE: If you use your own images or tubes, make them the same size!!!

Note: When working with your own colors, play with the Blend Mode and/or Opacity at your own discretion

  • Set your Foregroundcolor to #460908

  • Set your Backgroundcolor to #e6b1a3

Materials Palette: Set your Background to Gradient "@nn_110115_GR_Marion_tdstudio" - Style: Radial

 

 

The tutorial:

Open a new transparent image of 900 x 500 px

Fill the Layer with the Gradient 

Effects - Distortion Effects - Pixelate

Maximize "marion_001.jpg" from tray

Edit - Copy

On your work image: Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Layer Palette:  Lower the Opacity of this Layer to 30

Materials Palette: Change the Background Gradient back to Color  

Layers - New Raster Layer

Fill the Layer with the Backgroundcolor 

Selections - Load/Save - Load Selection From Disk "@nn_140115_Selectie_001_Marion_tdstudio"

Edit - Cut  (or hit Delete on your keyboard)

Selections - Select None

Effects - Plugins - Filters Unlimited - Toadies - Sucking Toad Bevel II.2

Effects - Plugins - Filters Unlimited - Toadies - What Are You?

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance

Layer Palette:  Lower the Opacity of this Layer to 65

Layers - New Raster Layer

Selections - Load/Save - Load Selection From Disk "@nn_140115_Selectie_002_Marion_tdstudio"

Fill the Selection with the Backgroundcolor 

Effects - Plugins AP 01[Innovations] - Lines - SilverLining

Your work looks like this now:

Selections- Select none

Effects - Plugins - Filters Unlimited - Toadies - Rasterline

Layer Palette: Set the Blend Mode of this Layer to Dodge and lower the Opacity to 70

Layer Palette:  Close the second Layer from the Top (Raster3)

Edit - Copy Special - Copy Merged

On your work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Effects - Image Effects - Seamless Tiling

Effects - Plugins - MuRa's Meister - Perspective Tiling

Layer Palette: Set the Blend Mode of this Layer to Overlay and lower the Opacity to 85

Layer Palette: Open Raster 3 but keep the Top Layer active

Maximize "amsterdam_001"  from tray

Edit - Copy

On your work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Layer Palette: Set the Blend Mode of this Layer to Hard Light and lower the Opacity to 80

Your work looks like this now:

Layers - New Raster Layer

Selections - Load/Save - Load Selection From Disk "@nn_140115_Selectie_003_Marion_tdstudio"

View - Zoom In

Fill the Selection with the Backgroundcolor 

View - Zoom Out

Selections - Select None

Effects - Edge Effects - Enhance

Maximize "@nn_140115_blendlaag-001_Marion_tdstudio" from tray

Edit - Copy

On your work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

No need to move

Layer Palette: Change the Blend Mode of this Layer to Hard Light and lower the Opacity to 60

Layers - New Raster Layer

Materials Palette:  Change the Foregroundcolor to #ffffff

Brush Tool (B)  Select "@nn_140115_Brush_001_Marion_tdstudio"  from the drop down menu  Size: 500

Stamp once with the Foregroundcolor   like this:

Layer Palette: Set the Blend Mode of this Layer to Overlay and lower the Opacity to 80

Layers - New Raster Layer

Brush Tool (B)  Select "@nn_140115_Brush_002_Marion_tdstudio"  from the drop down menu  Size: 500

Stamp once on your work with the Foregroundcolor like this:

Click once with your mouse and move the stars like this:

Click once with your mouse and move the balls like this:

Edit - Copy

On your work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Effects - Plugins - MuRa's Meister - Copies

Effects - Plugins - Alien Skin - Eye Candy 5 - Perspective Shadow - Preset: @nn_160115_Marion_EC5_PS_001.f1s

Note: If the Preset isn't working for you, use these settings in the Basic Tab:

Move the tube to the Right like this:

Materials Palette: Change the Foregroundcolor to - #460908 and Backgroundcolor to - #e6b1a3

Set your Background to Gradient "@nn_110115_GR_Marion_tdstudio" - Style: Radial

Text Tool (T)  Xephyr   Size: 72 px

Type the word "Marion"

Layers - Convert to Raster Layer

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow:   Vertical: 0   Horizontal: 2   Opacity: 50   Blur: 8   Color: #000000

Move to the Bottom Left like this:

Window - Duplicate (or Shift+D)

Minimize your work and continue on the copy

Layers - Merge - Merge All Flatten

Image - Resize - 200px Width (Height will adjust itself)

Image Add Borders - Symmetric chcked - 1px - #000000 

Image Add Borders - Symmetric chcked - 13px - #ffffff   

Image Add Borders - Symmetric chcked - 1px - #000000 

Magic Wand Tool:

Click in the White border

Selections - Promote Selection to Layer

Layer Palette: Lower the Opacity of this Layer to 30

Keep selected

Layer Palette:  Right click on the Bottom Layer

Promote Background Layer

Edit - Cut  (or hit Delete on your keyboard)Selections - Select None

Layers - Merge - Merge Visible

Selections - Select None

Edit - Copy

On your main work image:  Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Effects - Distortion Effects - Wave

Your work looks like this now:

Raster Deform Tool: Preset - "@nn_120115_VV_Marion_tdstudio"

If the preset isn't working for you use the settings below

Your work looks like this now:

Hit any key on your keyboard to close the Deform Tool

Layers - Duplicate

Image - Rotate Left (or Rotate Counterclockwise 90 in older versions)

Effects - Distortion Effects - Wind From Left checked - Wind Strength 100

Edit - Repeat Wind

Image - Rotate Right (or Rotate Clockwise 90 in older versions)

Layers - Arrange - Move Down

Layer Palette:  Click on the Top Layer

Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow:   Vertical: 5   Horizontal: 5   Opacity: 50   Blur: 12   Color: #000000

Layers - Merge - Merge Down

Effects - Plugins - MuRa's Meister - Copies

Maximize "@nn_140115_ster_Marion_tdstudio"  from tray

Edit - Copy

Edit - Paste - Paste As New Layer

Move to a position of your choice

Layers - Merge - Merge All Flatten

Image - Picture Frame - "@nn_180115_Frame_Marion_tdstudio"

Colorize the Frame to match your work.


Add your name or watermark, save as JPG file and you're done!
